*Application Form
*Sample of filmmaking experience VHS or DVD, short films, documentaries, music videos, feature films, or other supporting materials where you are credited. 
*Cover letter introducing yourself and your project, and informing us why you want to be a filmmaker, no more than 3 pages.
*Resume/CV, including name, address, email, and telephone of the writer, no more than 3 pages. 
*Resume/CV of key people attached to project 
*Project Synopsis/Treatment (summary) no more then 2 pages
*ENTIRE submitted screenplay.
*3-5 scenes from the submitted screenplay that the director proposes to shoot during the lab. 
* These scenes should be no more than 5 pages each.
* These scenes should not include more than 3 characters each. 
* None of the scenes should have any digital or computer-generated effects requirements. 
*Copy of passport or other ID indicating citizenship. 

Note:
*Chosen participants of Maisha Directors’ Labs will be REQUIRED to attend that years’ Maisha Screenwriters’ lab, which will be an additional 7 days.  Be prepared to take 21 days off work and/or other commitments if you are selected.
*If  a director is not the writer of his/her script, the director is responsible for the cost of the writers’ travel, or for keeping in touch with the writer during the lab session.  
*All scenes will be shot on digital cameras. 
*The screenplay does not have to be written by the applicant. However, all permissions and rights must be obtained by the screenwriter and submitted with application.
*The submitted screenplay cannot be a previously made film. 
*Strictly one project per applicant.
*Materials submitted will NOT be returned
*Only Applicants that are SHORT LISTED will be contacted via email. 
*Final participants’ names will be made public in both print and electronic mediums.
*All final participants are responsible for visa and vaccination costs associated with traveling to Uganda.
